Ingredients:
- Crust:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 100g cold butter, diced
- 1 egg yolk
- A pinch of salt
- 2-3 tbsp cold water
- Filling:
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk or cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, gruyere, or your favorite)
- ½ cup cooked and diced vegetables (spinach, bell peppers, mushrooms, etc.)
- ½ cup cooked meat (ham, bacon, chicken, optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Crust:
- In a bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add cold butter and mix until it forms coarse crumbs.
- Add egg yolk and cold water. Mix gently until the dough comes together.
- Roll into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
