Potato rings

Here’s a simple recipe for crispy and tasty potato rings!

Ingredients:

  • 3 large potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1/4 cup cornflour
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Bread crumbs (optional for extra crispiness)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Potatoes:
    • Grate the potatoes and soak them in water for about 10 minutes. This helps remove excess starch.
    • Drain and squeeze out as much water as possible from the potatoes.
  2. Mix Ingredients:
    • In a bowl, combine the grated potatoes, cornflour, all-purpose flour, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
    • Mix everything well until you get a thick, sticky mixture. If it’s too wet, add a little more flour to bind.
  3. Shape the Rings:
    • Take a small portion of the mixture and roll it into a small ball. Flatten it slightly and create a hole in the center to form a ring. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  4. Coat with Bread Crumbs (Optional):
    • For extra crunch, roll the rings in bread crumbs before frying.
  5. Fry the Rings:
    • Heat oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the potato rings in batches.
    • Fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Serve:
    • Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
    • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce!

Enjoy your homemade potato rings!
